Charleston’s economic evolution has positioned our region as a global competitor alongside major metros – one of which is Seattle. Though much larger, Seattle boasts similar economic assets, including aerospace, port and transportation logistics, an exploding tech sector and many of the challenges Charleston faces, including managing growth as well as attracting and retaining young professionals. We invite you to take part in the 2016 Metro Leadership Visit - a two-day immersion into Seattle’s development and the challenges and differences of operating on the West Coast versus the East Coast. Through the visit, our region’s leaders have the opportunity to learn from and improve upon Seattle’s progress, by allowing innovative techniques to be applied in Charleston. The visit will feature tours with Boeing, Microsoft and the Port of Tacoma to explore the newly formed Northwest Seaport Alliance – the only one like it in the country.
